5 Tips for Practicing Yoga with Cannabis Called Bhang or Bhanga, Cannabis use is recorded in Indian texts, dating back to 1000 CE. In the Tantric texts, cannabis is recorded as an aphrodisiac for the practice and rituals of tantric sex in the 1st millennium AD. Cannabis is also recorded in the Vedas or Rig Veda (Sacred Hindu texts) in the 7th century. Yoga was developed over 5,000 years ago in India by the Indus-Saravasti Civilization. The word, Yoga, is first mentioned in the Vedas. Vedic Texts describe cannabis as one of five sacred plants. Vedic texts praise cannabis as a source of joy, happiness, releasing anxiety and fear. In Hinduism, the god Shiva is associated with cannabis (Bhang). The legend states that after fighting with his family, Shiva was enraged and went into a field. Being drained and in the hot sun, Shiva fell asleep under a broad leafy plant. Once he woke up he became curious about the plant. Shiva sampled the leaves and was instantly refreshed and rejuvenated. In India, Shiva is known as the Lord of Bhang (cannabis). Knowing this, I felt compelled to incorporate its medicinal use into my yoga practice. I have been practicing yoga with cannabis for 15 years. Without cannabis in my system, I generally feel distracted, uncomfortable and unfocused with my inner-self. When using cannabis for Yoga, it allows me to go deeper. Deeper breathing, deeper stretching, deeper engagement with my mind-body connection. It increases my awareness of areas of discomfort and allows me to keep a harmonious inner balance. When practicing yoga, here is the regimen I follow: 1. Breath Diaphragmatic Breathing is the practice of breathing from your diaphragm or belly. It should be deep and relaxed. This optimizes the diaphragm, the main muscle of breath. I opt for a 5 second inhalation in a three-part breath in the sequence of 1- expanding the belly; 2- working this expansion up through the ribs; 3- then upper chest. Then a three-part, 5 second exhalation in reverse of 1- the upper chest; 2- the ribs; 3- the belly. The aim is to saturate your system with oxygen. I do this for 5 minutes to increase my parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system while lowering my sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system. 2. Get High Choose a strain that is relaxing and not overstimulating. There are many strains that you can find for specific effects of relaxation, focus and calm. Every body is different, so finding the right strain for your needs can make all the difference in the way you experience your yoga practice. I like smoking hybrids with a 60/40 or a 70/30 Sativa to Indica ratio, as it allows for an alert yet tranquil state to be present in my yoga practice. 3. Hydrate Before starting your yoga sessions I suggest hydrating with at least 500ml of water to moisten any after-effects of cannabis like dry eyes or cottonmouth. Hydration also allows for proper blood circulation, flushing of toxins and synovial joint fluid movement. 4. Get Organized Put out your mat, yoga blocks, straps or whatever you need for your practice session. This will give your body some time to settle the water and start feeling the effects of cannabis in your system before your practice. 5. Practice. Enjoy the movement. Allow yourself to go deep into your practice. Just let go. Let go of all the things that no longer serve you in your life. Let go of the pain, anger, worry, frustrations. Just breathe and enjoy! - Would You Swap Nugs?
I have heard of swapping records, gear, jewelry, clothing, etc... but this is a new one for me! In 1997 to 2001 I owned and operated a record store with a couple if people in Barrie ON, called The Beat Boutique. We would do a record swap once a month, this gave DJ's the opportunity to get rid of the trax they didn't want anymore. In this case, its probably two reason, 1 you do want to get rid of the old herb sitting around you do not want, but another is bragging rights, basically the opportunity to share you bud that you have grown and receive another kind in exchange for your generosity, which is brilliant considering when I give shit away, I rarely receive anything in return. This concept has come to life from a passionate thought leader, advocate and influencer, Rev. Kelly Addison is changing the way to people think and use cannabis. Back in the day (were talking accent times) they used cannabis as currency, I am pretty sure they swapped a few nugs back then as well. So here a little about Kelly's amazing lounge, we will have a full interview and series based on her story coming soon. About Kelly’s Green Lounge Located in the quaint town of Orono in Ontario, Kelly’s Green Lounge is a cannabis-friendly establishment. It’s a humble local space where the canna-curious to the cannabis connoisseur alike can unite in education, and in celebration of the plant. It operates with the belief that cannabis, in all of its many forms, can heal the planet. We will have a full article coming up in the April issue of the E-mag, but you can find her her https://linktr.ee/KGLNETWORK
- OG Original Mini Press
Cool device that creates perfect pucks, the solution, for the bottom of your bag. I picked up one of these at a headshop located down town Toronto ON, Canada. I was looking for ways to use the bottom of the bag more creatively, because I was already experimenting with all sorts of extraction processes, producing edibles and what not. I asked the guy what it was, he really didn't too much details other than, stick your herb and press it. I tried to image the purpose of taking a bud and sticking it in this, compression it and it comes out a small puck shape. No resin, no oil, just a little puck. As I was thinking about it, then I realized, I could use this for all the loose broken down buds, mix it with shatter or diamonds, hash and shake. I could press it with my really good shit and make "Get fucked pucks", so I bought and thought I would give it a try. How it works: Once you have taken it out of the box, twist the handle head off, from the top of the tube. Then fill up the tube with loose flower or even kief. Screw the top back on, and twist till its firm, but not twisted to the point you break the threads on the cap, like I did. Just watch when you do it, it does need to be pressed hard, but don't over do it, I went through 3 of them to finally understand how to properly press. Once completed, twist the bottom cap off, and twist the handle, till the puck comes out, all the way. The loose flower, will tend to stick to the base of the press, depending on how juicy of material you use. Once you see the head of the press come out, grab the puck off. There you have it, a quick puck, you can use in your bongs, pipes, and Hookahs, basically what ever device you use, that can handle a puck that size. I guess this could be a pretty cool tool to have in your "Cannabis Connoisseur" kit. But what I would suggest to the manufacture of this product, is to use stronger material for certain components, it will avoid multiple returns. I know its all about bigger margins. But the reputation of the product is just as important. Keep er lit!

- Legacy Market Review #2
Another US based product that's a creeping through the boarder, a buzz packed with pow! So with my new found excitement from the world of cannabis motivating me to learn and consume as much information as possible led me to a discovery. In a gift box from a friend I received what appear to be cannabis infused Cheetos. Imagine my amazement when I saw a national brand in the cannabis industry, and shortly after some quick investigation I realized there are many offering like these. Medibles Infused Snacks is the brand on the bag with no place of origin listed. The bag opens easily with a zip lock style resealable strip and has all the nutrition facts just like you would see on regular Cheetos the only difference is the serving size which is not included on the bag however the fact that it contains 500mg of THC is very apparent. The first bag I consumed over a period of a couple days and found them to be a little stale and chewy. In addition to this, the effects of the product was inconsistent, being reborn into the world of cannabis, I do not require too much in order to feel the medicine. And according to the research and interviews we have conducted, consistency is a major focus in the legal industry, and if these infused products aren't processed and produced correctly, all that THC potency could potentially be packed in one of the edibles out of the whole pack., so you need to be aware when you consume these products, not to over indulge based on your tolerance, or you may regret it. But these guys are a legally operating in the US market, so it safe to say , I didn't need to be concerned. The second bag was much fresher and consistent in delivering a high. I only had four of the Cheetos and within 40 minutes, the advertised activation time I was feeling no pain. Did I mention the bag states they are made with real cheese. I found the effects of this snack pleasurable however for me, this is more of an after work snack as my ability to complete some tasks diminished. So if you are looking for brand recognition in your hunt for edibles these are a decent option. I give these 5 out of 7 leaves.
- HW Mini
A cleaner smoke with this twisty blunt bubbler kit I like to smoke cannabis in many different ways, and I must say, I think I've tried pretty well every possible way out there. But lately I have been more aware of smoking cannabis using papers. I'm not saying all papers, lead to anything bad, but after having C o v i d, my lungs aren't quite the same as they use to, and what I noticed, is not only do I feel the harshness on my lungs, but the taste of the cannabis is effected directly from using ones that are a little more thicker, or have been through a chemical process when producing them. Using any type of glass accessories will provide you a pure taste the terpenes, but if you want to really lock them in, do the vape machines, I'll review one in another article. This little do hickey is pretty cool, the bong aspect works, but on a smaller scale, so its perfect for for die hard bong smokers, that can't bring theirs with them, every where they go. I have HW Mini, and I mostly use the twisty chamber, and attach the mouth piece directly to it. I almost feel like I'm smoking a cigar based on how much you can put in the chamber, the size, and the way it feels. The HW Mini Twisty Blunt Bubbler Kit is sold in most headshops I have gone into in the GTA, there are different versions of it, but this kit contains a glass pipe, and glass bubbler combo kit designed for portability and convenience. This kit features a reusable design for loose leaf and dry herb, to push the buzz further, I added hash, shatter, crumble material. The Glass Pipe is simple to use. The inner corkscrew allows you to operate and clean quickly with efficiency. This kit includes a glass pipe, glass bubbler, silicone cap, 510 threaded glass mouthpiece, bubbler connector, and a cleaning brush for your convenience. This product is intended the use of loose leaf cannabis , not for any e-Liquid, or oil. The Twisty Specs: Dimensions for Glass Pipe: 3-7/16" x 5/8" Dimensions for Glass Bubbler: 4-1/8" x 3/4" Portable Design Glass Construction Reusable Design Includes Glass Pipe Includes Glass Bubbler Includes Silicone Cap Includes 510 Threaded Glass Mouthpiece Includes Bubbler Connector Includes Cleaning Brush Got a product you want me to review, send me an email at info@the-cbd.ca
- The Legacy of Prohibition.
And a part of Canada, repeating history in a different way. So you believe we live in a free society and should benefit from all things related to that. However, a move by the provincial government of Quebec, recently brought several thousands to the streets of Montreal in protest. What caused this reaction you might ask. Mandatory vaccination? Tax increases? No the prohibition of cannabis and alcohol for the unvaccinated. Much like Chicago in the 20's, Montreal has a deep rooted history of organized crime partially due to the fact of being a port city. Take five minutes and look up the history of organized crime in Montreal for the last century, you might be amazed. What the government fails to realize is that those who choose to be vaccinated already are and those that aren't will remain that way. "Prohibiting cannabis for a group of people just four years past legalization was a move in futility. The legacy market, also known as the black market still exists and has existed for decades". As for alcohol, keeping others from purchasing it for those affected by the ban is impossible unless the divide with hate tactics employed by some levels of government and the mainstream media outlets works. Will we have speakeasies popping up with well dressed members of the criminal underworld along with beautiful ladies adorned with the historical garb of the flapper one could hope merely for the experience, however highly unlikely. Here it is almost 100 years to the day, that prohibition and the roaring 20s started in the US. The irony of a prohibitive move made by a government in the new 20s is not lost on me. With microbrew brew, homebrew illegal stills running the outcome will be only benefit those that are willing to break the law. As for cannabis, the legacy market exists and will flourish again with this act. The question remains will regions follow? How will the crime affect society? What would you do in this situation?

- Gateway drug, that's your gateway out!
Join me as I follow a good friend of mine over coming his battle with opiate addiction, due to failed medical treatment and therapy. "Due to a workplace injury and a collection of life reminding you that it's life, I was stuck without a family doctor who could change my five-year-old script to something stronger now my right shoulder is destroyed and three surgeries later with no solutions in sight. So yes, I'm over medicated and my career as a carpenter is effectively over." Here is the beginning of a battle, my friend just started two weeks ago, making the choice to take command of his health, due to failed treatment and therapy, he has been robbed of his normal life style. He is taking a natural approach by combining cannabis with other natural materials. My how times are totally different from back in the day, the old way of thinking about cannabis would have been the blame for an addiction of this nature. I can't remember how many times in high school I heard a teach say "It's the gateway drug!" Utilizing these ingredients and method of therapy, will provide him a successful transition back to a lifestyle that doesn't depend on products manufactured to for pain relief, but transform you into an addicted victim. In the Academy, I had some incredible instructors, and some of the projects they assigned to use were brilliant. I did a project on how cannabis and certain terpenes, combined with other natural materials, would cure cocaine addiction. At the time, I knew someone that just so happen to have that problem, I used him as the guineapig. It was all trial and error, I just had to make sure the doses weren't to potent, and to use it only in the evening, or if it was a withdrawal or craving urge while functioning during the day (as long as no driving was involved). It took about three months in total to over come all the symptoms. Now when your dealing with opiate addiction, the symptom are the following. Extremally loose bowl movements Fever Sweats (hot/cold) Anxiety. Insomnia. Muscle Aches and Spasms.(PAIN) Agitation. Irritability. Abdominal Cramping. Nausea and Vomiting. But with proper dosage, and following a routine consuming the right natural ingredients, success is achievable. I am not a doctor, and I'm not saying do what they tell you, especially if there is a situation of life and death, but from what I have experienced personally, natural remedies are a far better option, the side effects have more of a positive out come.

A rope that will give you a ride to the hospital, if you're not responsible. This tasty powerful treat, is created by a number of legit and legacy operations all over the world. I had a independent producer give me samples of his version, it was delicious. Only thing is, I wanted to eat the whole thing, but you can't or you will regret it big time. Here is the thing about this markets offerings, they aren't regulated, you possibly have some new producer, putting these product out in the market, when they don't truly under stand the ramification if they do not process it properly. From what I learned in school, this isn't a simple thing, people invest millions of dollars in to the extraction and processing sector to be able to produce, a quality product that won't hurt anyone. I am certified in the extraction process, my instructor, was extremely detailed and expressed some of the dangers involved. I have a little lab myself, I know from experience, if you haven't blend the ingredients properly, there could be one gummy or chocolate, what ever it is in your batch, that could have the entire dose in it if you don't do it properly. Before I gained the knowledge I have now, I made some gummies and screwed myself during the experimentation process. Let me tell you, I cleaned out the entire fridge and wore a spot out on the kitchen floor that night. But here is one that was at least completed with the user in mind, not just to make tis crazy thing that people are going to get screwed off of, make your money and dash out. These new "Tear & Share" Rainbow Nerds Ropes are an updated classic manufactured by Nestle. The combination of a "sweet & crunchy" outside and a "soft & chewy" inside makes a truly unique taste and texture not to mention a great looking piece of candy! Net Weight .92 oz Each Rainbow Nerds Rope measures 13" long and is individually wrapped As stated by the producer of this product, I had the pleasure of trying this delicious treats explosions of taste, and the warm creeper soothing buzz, it was a sure mood shift for me when I need it, great job on this one team! These guys did it right, perfect packaging, very detailed and informative, giving people the activation time, which really help, plus they have a warning on the package about mixing with other substances like alcohol. Depending on the level of alcohol in your system, popping one of these puppies down at the same time will send you to the hospital quick. Please do read the instructions on these non regulated products, as they are not weak, I am not saying the regulated products are tame and no use to purchase, I am just saying there is more potency in the legacy market products, compared to the max 15 mg ones on the retail shelves, which you really need to be responsible when consuming these products. If you have a product in mind, send me a link and I'll do a review on it, I can come up with a gazillion more, I want to showcase ones you want to know, so send me your list.
- The Pros Review #1
Let me introduce myself, a man of many hats and cannabis is involved in every aspect. My name is Trevor Paxton Lambert, certified recording and producing engineer, performing artist, media specialist, high performance producer and certified cannabis expert, check my credentials , now journalist. I have experience in a ridiculous amount of different industries over my entire career, so many if I listed them you wouldn't believe I actually accomplished being qualified for each position, and at the same time I was working in the the legacy market, for 27 years of my life. I finally transitioned over to the legal market 2 years ago, and when I found an amazing program that enabled me to operate legally in the cannabis market, I had to enroll immediately. At the end of the program, instead of doing a test for my finally exam, the academy gave a couple of options, one was to do a full scale business plan, plus pitch deck and present to the faculty and administration of the academy. I was in this program to be a thought leader, create employment and support the industry, in what ever way I could after I graduated, so this was perfect! The business I choose to create was massive, it was a seed to smoke operation, within an unparalleled retail experience. It had every aspect covered, and the operations would not only produce the upper echelon of flower, but equal of quality processed cannabis products like, live resin, diamonds, oil, shatter, snap and pull etc. A $5 million dollar investment, and achieve within 5 years, an annual revenue of $10 million, it was beautiful, and still is waiting for the right moment. I actually tried to pull a team together, so I could approach a network of investors I had developed over my life time. But finding people who were serious was extremely hard, and with the pandemic, everyone had other priorities, which was totally understandable being in the situation we all faced. So the team and dream fizzled away. I started to approach dispensaries and offer my consulting services, being fresh out of school and the uncertainties of what was going to happen in life, non of the legal ones I connected with felt they needed my assistance. So I started to work with the legacy market, some of the brands you can see on my partner page, but unfortunately most of them have dropped out of the game due to lack of funds and knowledge, or they made more money easier working in the legacy market , than it did with the regulatory system. I get it totally, I know there are operations out there, that work with legacy people just to keep their legal operations alive. Then there was people who led me on, like a donkey chasing a bloody carrot. I had this one guy who had operations in Ontario, who had intended to expand his store fronts, and he wanted to build a LP ( Licensed Producer) operations, so he had more control over his inventory and profit margins would grow. I thought wow, finally a real contract, I am actually going to make a living doing this. But then he told me his budget and to include my rate into it, and the budget he told me was way the fuck out of the ball park, I told him I will see what I could do based on that number, but I wasn't going to be able to make some state of the art operations, and I would have to tap into my contacts that have access to liquidated operations selling everything cheap. As an incentive, for free, I create a rough proposal for an indoor operation outlining, equipment, costs, materials, etc., not giving away the farm, but just enough to keep him and these so called partners interested. I needed to keep this guy locked, he had previously approached me to work with him, but nothing manifested, so I wanted to show him I was serious. Then one day he calls me out of no where, I just finished the proposal and converted it to a presentation format. He tells me, one of his partners bought a huge piece of land and to change everything to outdoor, so I took another week developing, and pricing out everything for an outdoor operation base on the size and budget he wanted, I sent it off and waited for his response. When the time came to review, it just kept getting put off, once I was able to talk to him I asked him what was going on, he made it out that he was really busy and didn't have time to go over anything, That was my signal this is all bullshit, or at least he is. With all the failed attempts to develop business with dispensaries and LP's, I needed to come up with something that was still within the industry, I didn't go to school for nothing. I went to school for the professional Artist management and recording industry, and just as I graduated from The Harris Institute, Napster came out, that was the end of the recording industry as we all knew it, bed room studios popped up out of no where and my internship at one of the biggest production facilities in Toronto was done, due to them closing down, I struggled for years trying to make it, DJing, Performing, making tracks, having them signed to Record labels that don't pay you, there was only one label that actual helped my SEO, that's why if you type my name in Google, you'll see who I am LMFAO. I am not allowing that to happen now, not with cannabis, I am born on 4/20, this is my calling. Here we are today with The Canadian Cannabis Directory, I think I found the right path now, don't you? If you know anyone who is in the industry or uses cannabis as part of their profession, please contact me, so I can share their story. Thanks for reading. Keep er lit!
